Emerging application to join Impacts DAO Cooperative

Emerging is a pioneer in providing modern cooking solutions in Africa, and has already given tens of thousands of low-income households access to modern household energy (clean cooking and solar products). It has been working in Zambia, and lately also in Malawi and Mozambique, for over 10 years. It has developed an “energy as a service” model where the high-end so-called gasifying stoves (running on waste biomass pellets) are not sold but lent for free to the user, as long as they buy pellets. The pellets cost about 40% less than the equivalent amount of charcoal, which is Emerging’s goal to replace. The pellets are delivered to the customers' doorstep using electric 3-wheelers. Emerging has developed an IoT stove, connected to Internet, which gives a wealth of data on the actual usage. This and other data allows for a digital-MRV (measurement, reporting and verification) system, which has been integrated with ixo’s platform and thus is the first real-world use case for carbon credit claims using the ixo technology. Emerging’s vision is to provide access to renewable household energy, and other products and services, to mostly low-income households in Africa, and to leverage the power of Web3 to do so.
